Actress Emma Watson is causing a stir in the fashion world as she has decided to wear clothes by designers that don’t use fur and those who refuse to use environmentally harmful chemicals as part of her wardrobe, for her press tour for an upcoming film. After being applauded for championing the rights of gender equality, she is now using her wardrobe to lend support to a fashion-related cause: advocating against unethical fashion.
Joining a growing the list of celebrities to embrace the movement, she was inspired by the documentary, The True Cost by director Andrew Morgan, which is an in-depth expose of the dark world behind fast fashion. Using Instagram as a platform to share her thoughts on the matter and share some gorgeous eco-conscious outfit ideas, we hope that Emma can inspire fashionistas to think twice about their next fast fashion find.
From her Instagram, she is quoted: “We are thinking about all the people, pieces, and moving parts! This rack includes designers that are considering local craft and production, artisan skills, the environment, sustainability and the longevity of fashion!”
