Through its online Social Enterprise Network platform, The Guardian, a British daily newspaper has been able to discuss social enterprise issues with an international audience. The online section has been able to aggregate and present issues and updates related to social enterprise as a whole, as well as specific social ventures.

However, primarily focused on work being done in the United States, UK and Australia, Canada is left sorely out of focus. Perhaps this alludes to the larger issue of a lack of momentum around social entrepreneurship in Canada, or perhaps there is a Canadian audience but not platform catering to them. Either way, Canada needs to find a way to push social enterprise to the forefront of people’s mind and media would be a fascinating way to do this.
