For those of you are that are active readers of our blog – we thank you for your support and readership! For those of you that have just stumbled upon this blog, through another site or through hearing about our exciting TIFF Style Party, we wanted to share a little bit about us:
Launched in 2010, Shopanthropic is built on the belief that people can have a significant positive impact on the world through their purchases as they aspire to bring trendy ‘feel good’ designer products that are ethically-made, fair trade or eco-friendly.
Shopanthropic represent the unique creativity of a global network of artisans. Many of these artisans are women from some of the most deprived and disadvantaged communities, with very little opportunities for self-development and growth and in most cases, their work and their identity both remain uncounted or undercounted and unseen. Shopanthropic gives them a stage to share their stories, an ability to grow and the opportunity to better their lives and their communities.
At Shopanthropic, the mission is important but so are style trends. Shopanthropic has an eye out of current and upcoming colour and style trends around the world. The label is currently working with artisans and cooperatives in India, Nepal and most recently, Cambodia, with the launch of the new Bomb Shell Collection.
We are excited to launch the Bombshell Collection at our TIFF Style Party on September 7th, 2012. Join us for an evening of fine cocktails and fine fashion at the Pat McDonagh Couture Studio located in the heart of all the TIFF action in the Entertainment District, and get the first glimpse of this new collection!
